Power Up at Science + Industry Museum | Manchester

Power UP is a hands-on, interactive gaming experience at Manchester’s Science and Industry Museum.

Play the very best video games from the past five decades and try out over a hundred different consoles. There’s something for everyone, from Pong to Pacman, Sonic to Street Fighter and Mario to Minecraft, plus a selection of games created in Manchester.

Choose from playing on your own on a classic pc game or face off against friends and families on the multiplayer games, rediscover your childhood favourites and test out some of the latest virtual reality experiences.

Once you have your wristband on you can come and go weather it’s to nip to the toilet, to have a gaming break and have a look around the rest of the museum or to feed your energy levels by having a picnic or heading to the museum cafe.

We were playing games for 2.5 hours and easily could have spent longer but we had lunch booked in another area of Manchester. So we will definitely be booking another session. My girls who are 8 and 11 really enjoyed the games and a lot of them were the first time they had played on them.

Equally me and my husband were happily playing games from our childhood. I was personally delighted to find my favourite Crash Bandicoot on an updated version.
