Welcome to Wonderland at Tatton Park
21 November, 2023 - 31 December, 2023
New for Christmas 2023! Tatton Park Mansion has been magically transformed into the world of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.
Step inside and immediately you “fall” down the rabbit hole full of sparkly lights to bring you out into the enchanted story of Alice.
Each room of the mansion is decorated beyond belief. It makes you go “Wow” every time you step through the next doorway.
Follow Alice’s footsteps through the Duchess’ Garden which is filled with thousands of colourful flowers & a hidden Cheshire cat. Follow on to find the Queen of Hearts’ grand palace, where you will meet the Queen of Hearts and she even told us of the super cute treat we would find at the end that got our taste buds going.
Into the most peculiar of magic forests next. Here, you can have a go at making your very own colourful catapillar to take home. It’s a simple craft so suitable for all ages.
You can follow the story of Alice in Wonderland on the boards in each room. You can read these with your children while also helping you to remember the details as adults.
The mansion has excelled at including the smallest of details. Each and every one of the decorations on the trees, garlands, and surfaces are Alice in Wonderland themed. From little teacups, “drink me” bottles and heart playing cards.
At the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, the grand table is laden with the most tantilising party food and flower arrangements.
Ending our adventure in the Queen of Hearts’ kitchen to meet the queens chef who has cooked up a special jam tart for every guest to try. As always, in the Christmas mansion, there is a wishing tree. My girls always enjoy writing a new wish on their label and attaching it, along with the others to the tree.
One last activity was to make your own Cheshire Cat Mask. It’s a cute mask that’s fun to make and a lovely keepsake to take home from your visit.
There is a cute little extra activity in the mansion while you’re going round. Can you count how many white rabbits you can see that are hidden in the rooms.
