The Kingdom of the Snow Queen at Blenheim Palace
18 November, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2 January, 2023 @ 8:00 pm
For Christmas at Blenheim, the palace has once again been. transformed
Inspired by the fairy tale Kingdom of the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson, each room has been transformed with lots of variety and detail set with the backdrop of the the palace grandeur.
Impossible to do justice with an iphone camera, the Blenheim Palace Christmas decorations start with an impressive display. Set in the breath taking entrance all a huge Christmas tree is set on a floor of mirror where the light bounces and reflects, setting the scene to entre an ice kindom.
There’s a little activity for kids to spot Gerda the mouse in each room.
The experiences takes you on a story from room too room with an information board in each room. The story beings with an enchanted mirror and you walk down a corridor or wavy mirrors dripping with icicles.
Each room is full of huge amount of detail and builds until you reach the Snow Queen in her wintery world. There’s a luxurious white carpet that runs down the centre of the room that I could hardly bear to walk my shoes over! There are photo opportunities too with a sleigh to sit in and the Snow Queen to meet too.
There is limited capacity with timed entry.
