Land of Lights Milton Keynes Review 2024
Spoiler alert – we loved it!
We were lucky to go along to the press preview night ahead of the opening of Land of Lights at Gulliver’s World in Milton Keynes. The Milton Keynes magical lantern festival opens from Friday 1st November right through until nearly the end of February 2025
We were blown away from the moment we arrived. The entrance to Land of Lights doesn’t just hint at what’s to come but but welcomed us in all it’s glowing glory.
The 1 mile festive light trail experience in Milton Keynes wind’s it’s way through Gulliver’s World theme park, staring along a board walk where you walk beneath twinkling lights and can peer over into the Lost World dinosaur zone.
Huge lanterns are lit with several of them moving too. Inspired by animal kingdoms, mystical creations, and seasonal celebrations, there are different zones to pass through adding to the excitement, each tempting you on to the next.
Each dreamworld is bursting with colour, energy, and illumination.
About 1/3 of the way through in the farmyard area, there are a mix of food and drink vendors so you can grab yourself something to eat or a hot chocolate.
Land of Lights Festival features an enchanting mix of music and entertainment.
Each dreamworld is connected by a lantern lit pathway to tempt you into the next.
There’s a fantastic mix of themes with a dash of Halloween and Christmas thrown in too.
With the Milton Keynes Land of Light lantern festival stretching right through to late Febuary, it’s not overtly Christmas which is great. This would make it a great gift experience you could give as a Christmas present. January and February are always through difficult months to fill with not so much going on and I’d highly recommend this as a great family outing.
The trail is 1 mile long and paved which makes it easy for pushchairs and wheelchairs too and I’d recommend at least two hours to fully enjoy it. You could easily stay longer especially if you stop for a bite to eat.
