Welcome in the festive season with the Christmas lights switch on and Gloucester Lantern Procession.  This Gloucester Christmas event will take place on Saturday 18th November 2023

An array of illuminated lanterns, pipers piping, and flying gold rings, will form lantern parade with children from 6 Gloucester primary school.

Gloucester Lantern Times Procession Route

• 4.45pm – Procession starts on Southgate Street
• 4.47pm – Front of Procession arrives at the cross
• 4.50pm – Light Switch On at the Cross
• 5.00pm – 5.15pm – Kings Square: Tree of Light Ceremony & Switch On
• 5.16pm – Procession leaves Kings Square towards Cathedral
• 5.26pm – Procession arrives at Gloucester Cathedral
• 5.45pm – Gloucester Cathedral Carol Service

The event will finish at Gloucester Cathedral for a Carol Service
