Cogges are holding a FREE fun-filled open day to celebrate the launch of their new Saxon House community project. Entry to the farm will be free all day from 9.30am – 4.30pm including the Saxon House launch event from 10am – 3pm.

Come along with all the family and enjoy Saxon-themed activities, music and re-enactments and have a go at crafts. Meet the team and discover more about this exciting new community project to build an archetypal Saxon dwelling and uncover more of Witney’s hidden past, thanks to the National Lottery Heritage fund.

Stimulate your senses and visit the Cogges Kitchen Café for teas, coffee and cake – they’ll try not to burn them like King Alfred The Great! Have your own Saxon-style make-over with dressing-up and enter a Saxon-Selfie photo competition #SaxonCogges. Say hello to the friendly animals – goats, sheep, Shetland ponies and resident farm cats and enjoy the farm all day.

Cogges’ Saxon House will provide a unique learning space for schools and craft activities, and an event venue with a difference. This exciting project will bring together volunteers, traditional build contractors and the community to create a fantastic addition to tell the story of Cogges’ 1000 years of history.
