Feb Half Term Mudfest at Slimbridge Wetland Centre
10 February - 18 February
Get stuck into your half term with minibeast mud hunts, glorious games, wild crafts – and mud, mud more mud at the Slimbridge Wetland Centre.
With hands-on activities for all ages and abilities, everyone can connect with nature and discover the magical powers of mud for wildlife and play.
After all, it’s the stuff wetlands (and great family adventures) are made of.
Go mad for mud with our daily self-led activities:
- Muddy puddle splashing! South Lake Discovery.
- Create your own festival art using rice glitter, make your own anti-glitter to take home or craft a festival banner, Art Hub.
- Play a game of stuck in the mud or hunt for mini beasts hiding in the leaves and soil, Wildplay area at Riverlife.
- Mudslinging at Riverlife – make sure to hit the target!
- Get creative with mud painting, mud nest crafting and mud sculpting or make a classic mud pie, North America.
- Mud kitchen – come and make your own muddy recipes from clean soil, North America.
Or go along to one of the following sessions:
- Air-dry clay sculptures, Art Hub (2pm-3.30pm).
- Become a bird detective and work out which birds have left their tracks in the mud, Cinema (11am-11.15am).
