Explore: Digital Painting

Led by Art in Flux’s Aphra Shemza. Create your own digital paintings! Join world renowned multimedia artist Aphra Shemza in her new digital painting workshop. The workshop is centred around her shemza.digital project which is a collaboration with computer artist Stuart Batchelor. Shemza.digital is based on the work of Aphra’s grandfather, the well-known British/Pakistani painter Anwar Jalal Shemza. During the workshop you will be introduced to the artist’s work and create your own digital paintings using the bespoke shemza.digital painting application.

Suitable for ages 10+ years.

You will need a laptop, computer or tablet to access Zoom and the online painting application.

Explore: Family Stop Motion Animation

Led by Discovery with Three. Get ready to bring toys to life! You will learn how to shoot and edit a short, animated film. You will plan and create the toys story using props and scenery – Lego works great, or use anything you like!

You need access to a computer or tablet. You will be asked to download free software as part of the session.

Explore: Magic (Families)

The Magic Circle has very strict rules about revealing any secrets of magic, however, for one day only, PaTRICK will be revealing some of his favourite magic tricks, all of which are easy to do, impressive and fun to learn! Each ticket includes a special magic box, which contains some of PaTRICKs favourite tricks, so you can look and feel like a real-life magician – even if you’ve never done magic before!

Your ticket includes a Magic Prop Box – box to be collected from the Norden Farm Takeaway ahead of the session. Family Workshops are designed for children and adults to get creative together – your ticket is for your household.

In a family festival of creative eccentricity we’ll be creating a dynamic poster / front cover and designing some of the most off-the-wall characters ever to have burst from the infinite bounds of the imagination! Expect random stuff, unexpected things, and lots of drawings you didn’t predict!
